Feather-Touch Controls are sensitive and logic-control LED for very fast, very easy operation. Digital synthesized AM/FM stereo tuner precisely locks in the most powerful signal for accurate, drift-free reception. Large Digital LCD Display with Back Light indicates radio station frequency, clock, preset status, and cassette operation, and is easy to read even in the dark. Control Pad is a unique design that allows for one finger control of volume and station presets. Adjustable Action Grip makes it easier to hold the unit while in action during jogging, walking, or other activities. Mega Bass sound system with “Groove Sound” position produces deeper, richer bass tones for more pleasing overall sound, with a special position for contemporary music that virtually doubles the bass response compared to regular Mega Bass. I run every day in a very hot climate and I put my walkman in the back of my sports bra. This is the oly walkman that has lasted for me. It has a handle you can use in your hand, and your thumb fits right at the top where the controls are conveniently located. All of the controls are combined into one knob that bends in four directions and pushes in for power. The controls are a bit sensitive, but there is a hold lever that when you put on, it will not respond to accidental pushing.

I bought this as a refurbished unit, and save a lot of money. It is built to last. The only bad thing is changing the batteries, which can be a pain. It’s really built to last. I’ve dropped it about 3 or 4 times and it still looks like new.

First, this model had all the features I needed: Auto Reverse, (automatic), A backlit button, and megabass. However, in Amazon’s description it said it included a clock function. Not true. The Battery case is difficult to access as you have to open the cassette door., plus Sony’s poor design continues with the headphone jack on the bottom of the walkman. Thus, you can NOT stand the unit upright on a table, etc. The 4 way knob is difficult to operate, and you have to look at the display to see if you are either rewinding fast-fowarding or playing. Thus, design I give it 2 stars, and it’s features 3 stars.

For performance I’d give it 5 stars. However, for durability it would only get 2. The reason being that the strap that holds the walkman to your hand while running etc is quite flimsy. I’d had my walkman for about 9 months when the mechanism broke and is irreparable. And for the price of the item this is quite unacceptable. So beware – if you want something that you can strap to your hand for running, this isn’t it.
